The Real CHRISTmas

The CHRISTmas season is foremost to express appreciation for our Savior, JESUS Christ. It is also a time for family functions, parties, shopping, gifts and food in abundance. Those activities are fun, special, and exciting as they add delight to the season. But often we allow the season to catch us up, and the placement of our priorities gets out of order.

Recently, I saw on the news stores opening with adults bolting through doors in their rush to obtain one of the latest toys, "Furby." In the past, there have been instances of adults in stores engaged in angry confrontations over toys, and other material possessions. Such behavior is unreasonable, and a misrepresentation of what the season stands for.

It is the priceless gifts issued from our hearts that hold the most meaningful, and lasting positions. We need an increase in random acts of kindness, compassion, and other forms of love in action.

Ideally, as a year-round exercise, we should concentrate on the vital priceless elements that strengthen and benefit our minds, hearts, and the whole of society. Such elements have proven to be assets that occupy eternal positions of supreme value.
